My fianc & I will be going to Dubai in the early May 2011. We love purchasing souvenirs to bring back home for our families. What kind of souvenirs should we be looking at? We don't want to get pashminas with tag that says "made in Japan". No offense,but we want smtg authentic from the locals.

To add on,what is cheaper to buy in Dubai? Are the designer makeup (Lancome,Chanel,Dior etc) & designer goods I.e. Chanel sunnies,bags etc. really cheaper than in the States or Europe?
